First Baptist Church of Melrose

The First Baptist Church of Melrose dates back to 1896, about three months after the formation of the First Baptist Society of Melrose. Its current home, a large granite church located across from Melrose City Hall, was built in the early 20th century at the site of the church's brick chapel. Today, the church offers youth group programs, adult education, bible studies, outreach programs, missions and Sunday School. First Baptist also runs Chime Time Children's Center preschool and Pantry of Hope food pantry out of its Main Street home.

Pastor Ron Ray leads the Church of Abundant life in south Braintree on Washington Street. It is a member of the Assemblies of God. The church's teaching center focuses on Jesus Christ as a savior, healer, baptizer and returning king. Church members have gone on missions across the globe, including to such locations as India, Russia and Uganda. Worship and other events are focused on Sundays, but there are also various youth groups and other activities going on throughout the week.

The First Baptist Church of Hingham has plenty of accommodations for its members and visitors. It has an elevator lift for the disabled and hearing assistance for those needing a little volume boost. It has a parents' room so that parents can stay with their young ones and still participate in the service. There is also a nursery option if you don't need to stay with your child. During the service, there is junior church during the main service for kids through the fifth grade. During the week, you can participate in some of the Bible study and prayer groups that meet. During the summer, it also hosts summer camps for children. New members and visitors are always welcome.
