Upon entering Johnny's Candy Corner, shoppers are enveloped by the sweet aroma of chocolate. That is because the shop is filled with fudge and chocolates that are hand made by the proprietors, Johnny and his family. Customers get hooked on its turtles, peanut butter cups or dark chocolate maple creams, to name a few, and return with frequency. Local school kids enjoy the low-priced package candy found in the "kids korner," and all comers enjoy the conversation and hospitality from the owner. Arlingtonians can only indulge from November to April, however, as they are in their York, Maine, shop for the other half of the year, where they have been operating for 30 years. Hours vary, so it is best to call ahead before going for one's chocolate indulgence.
