Chelmsford's Garrison House, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally built in 1691. It serves as a pristine reminder of how the common man of the time would have lived in Chelmsford. Features include a main house, barn, smithy, summer kitchen and craft house. Tours are occasionally organized and advertised by the museum. This site is only able to operate through the generous donations of time and effort put in by area volunteers. Single, family or group tours can be arranged by calling in advance. Membership rates are available for those who would like to support the Garrison House monetarily.
