Delta Electronics Manufacturing designs and manufactures over 70 different series of RF connectors. The company s connector product line ranges from smaller SMB and SMC connectors to large high-power types such as LC and LT. Since the company has been conducting business for more than half a century it can also supply obscure or obsolete connector types. The company uses silver plating on some of its connectors with brass bodies, but its high cost and low corrosion resistance make it less than ideal in most applications. Nickel plating is less expensive and more durable than silver, and comes standard on many of the company s connectors. However, in some applications, nickel plating can introduce unwanted intermodulation distortion, particularly on large size connectors. For these applications, Delta Electronics offers optional albaloy plating, a tin/zinc/copper composite with a bright white finish. Albaloy provides the corrosion resistance of nickel and the low intermodulation distortion of silver plating.
