Community Conversations Sister to Sister is a women's health initiative based in Cambridge, MA that aims to address barriers to improved health outcomes in the Black community and empower community members as they navigate the medical system in search of the highest quality care for themselves and their families. Through open discussions and monthly sessions held in a neighborhood beauty salon, this initiative creates a safe space for women of color to connect with healthcare experts who look like them, learn from each other, and tackle specific health issues and risk factors they face.
With a mission to empower and educate Black women, connect them with vital healthcare resources, foster a vibrant community, and address racial and gender disparities in healthcare systems, Community Conversations Sister to Sister is an ongoing, open forum that provides a platform for exploring health issues of particular relevance to Black women and their families. Through partnerships with various organizations and recognition for their impactful work, this initiative strives to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of the Black community in Cambridge and beyond.
