The Chelsea Police Department is managed by the Public Safety department of the city of Chelsea in Massachusetts. The department operates a traffic enforcement unit that is responsible for the education of the public. It also manages the Chelsea Police Patrol Division, which responds to emergencies, such as crimes in progress, fires and injuries. The Chelsea Police Department arrests more than 2,000 individuals and investigates over 700 motor vehicle accidents annually. In addition, the department handles cases related to drug distribution and prostitution.
