The Center for Human Development, also known as CHD, serves more than 6,000 children, adults and families in Massachusetts and Connecticut annually. It works with a team of over 1,100 staff members. The center undertakes in community initiatives for violence prevention in schools, as well as provides mediation and training solutions for families and community organizations. The Center for Human Development administers the 90-Day Diagnostic Program. Its Center for Youth and Family Services provides residential, home-based treatment, respite and foster care and therapeutic after-school solutions. In addition, the center also manages Horizons for Homeless Children, which is a nonprofit organization that that works to improve the lives of homeless children and their families.
