Middletown's VFW is the Captain Kenneth L. Gilbert Post 4487. The center is open daily offering various activities for local veterans and residents. Members are open to a variety of benefits, including help securing government benefits for veterans, subscription to the VFW magazine, group health insurance and more. Membership is available to all U.S. service members, including those who have earned an overseas campaign or expeditionary medal and are currently on active-duty, in the Reserves or who have been honorably discharged from the U.S. armed forces.
