The Water Division, part of Department of Public Works, brings water to all properties in Belmont, maintains the water distribution system and also performs its maintenance and repairs. In addition, it also manages the water main replacement system as well as the water meter modernization program. Like most municipalities in eastern Massachusetts, Belmont is a member of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.
