Though it is housed in the Belmont United Methodist Church, the Belmont Cooperative Nursery School is not religiously affiliated. It is a cooperative pre-k program that accepts children ages 2.9 to 5. The cooperative nature means that parents are involved through classroom work, fundraising and working on one of the various committees. With the three classes divided by age, the preschool curriculum focuses on developmentally appropriate activities and learning. Though group projects, art, music and free play time children are given the opportunity to grow their social skills and their confidence in personal abilities.
