Step One Early Intervention is a program operated by South Shore Mental Health. The program evaluates and serves infants and children with various developmental disabilities. It administers a range of toddler and parent-children groups. The program helps parents to recognize and understand their child's developmental needs. Step One Early Intervention serves children suffering from feeding, vision and hearing problems. It also serves children suffering from family problems, such as homelessness, substance abuse and family violence. The program conducts a variety of physical, occupational, music and speech therapy sessions. Step One Early Intervention maintains learning centers and its services are also available at child care centers.
