Originally funded by the Ames family and designed in 1877 by famed architect Henry Hobson Richardson, the Ames Free Library has become a historic landmark in North Easton. The original library is now a reading room on the second floor. The library is part of a larger campus that includes the Queset Garden and Queset House. In recent years, the library has strived to be a community center, using "where the community connects" as its slogan.
