In 1958, the Arc of Montgomery County was created by a group of parents to help their children with disabilities flourish. It has since expanded to a number of programs that are for every age, from infants to adults. The Family, Infant & Child Care Center (FICCC) helps take care of infants and children with a chronic medical condition from ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Qualified parents can obtain vouchers to help pay for the tuition. FICCC receives grants from Medicaid and the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene by the Maryland State Department.
