Sinclair Broadcast Group is one of the largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies in the United States. It owns and operates, programs or provides sales services to 60 television stations in 37 markets. Sinclair's television group reaches approximately 22% of U.S. television households and includes ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, WB and UPN affiliates. The company owns a majority equity interest in G1440 Holdings, an Internet consulting and development company and Acrodyne Communications, a manufacturer of transmitters and other television broadcast equipment. Sinclair's television group includes 19 FOX, 18 WB, 10 ABC, six UPN, two CBS affiliates, one NBC affiliate and two independent stations. Its news franchise includes 30 of its stations that air local news in 26 markets. Sinclair Broadcast Group was founded in 1986 and is traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol SBGI. The company reported its net broadcast revenues from continuing operations were nearly $615 million in 2005.
