As of July 2010, the Texaco station on York Road near Fairmount Avenue has become a Shell outlet; it was a Crown Gas station for many years before that. Consider this a locals' pit stop: it has 11 pumps to get you in and out quickly, unless you prefer to hang out and wash your car or to play Keno and the Maryland Lottery in the Corner Mart. Nearly as busy as its competitor Exxon half a block up, the Corner Mart has loyal patrons who are familiar with the employees and vice-versa, and all employees were kept on during the changeover. The Corner Mart is stocked with snacks, sodas, juice and Green Mountain coffee, the latter any size for 79 cents. The station is flanked by a new Burger King relocated from Joppa Road and faces a McDonald's across the street.
