Thomas G. Oyster and Associates, Inc was established in 1946. The company was renamed Oyster, Imus and Associates in 1967 and became Oyster, Imus and Petzold, Inc in 1977. In 2007 the assets of the company were transferred and the new company was named Oyster, Imus, Petzold & Associates, LLC. Back in the day, Thomas G. Oyster and Associates was one of the bigger civil engineering and surveying firms in the area. Today, we are a small company with two Professional Engineers, a Professional Land Surveyor, and support staff. Mr. Noursi joined Oyster, Imus, Petzold, in 2007 after working for nearly 20 years with the M-NCPPC Department of Parks in Montgomery County, Maryland. With the Department of Parks, Peter was responsible for the planning, design and construction of parks, as well as managing the engineering unit that over saw Park Development. Among his duties he reviewed designs by staff, and outside consultants, developed standard details for use in Park construction, and assisted in the automation of the design process for the Division. Peter has extensive civil engineering experience in storm drainage design, hydraulics, stormwater management, parking lot design, house additions, residential and commercial subdivision, and a wide range of park design and construction, including athletic fields, hiker-biker trails, stream bank protection, stream restoration, playgrounds, and recreational areas. Walt has extensive civil engineer experience in roadway design, hydraulics, storm water management, sewer and water lines, bridges, retaining walls, and subdivision development. Walter joined Oyster, Imus & Associates, Inc in 1968 as Chief Engineer. In that position he has completed numerous projects in suburban Maryland and the DC area. Walter was president of Oyster, Imus & Petzold, Inc from 1991 to 2007. Walter Petzold is a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He is also active in local community affairs having served as president of the Wheaton-Kensington Chamber of Commerce and of the Wheaton Kiwanis Club as well as several terms as vice-president of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Wheaton Kiwanis Club, Mid-County United Ministries and Bauer Housing Corporation. Prior to working at Oyster, Imus, Petzold, Walt served three years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and he worked as a project engineer with the City of Alameda, California, as traffic engineer with the D. C. Department of Transportation and Traffic, and as supervising engineer with the Montgomery County Department of Public Works.
