Established in 1988, the Department of Nursing, a part of Salisbury University, offers undergraduate research, internship and cooperative learning programs. It offers bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing, as well as a postmaster's family nurse practitioner certificate program. The department s baccalaureate and master's programs are approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and American Association of Colleges of Nursing. It provides courses in nursing care, research methods, euthanasia, experimentation, genetic engineering, women health, resource analysis and health care management. The department operates a student organization, the Student Nurses' Association, which is an affiliate of the Salisbury University Student Government Association. The Department of Nursing organizes various seminars and workshops for students, as well as offers financial aid and scholarship programs. Salisbury University is an educational institution that offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
