Featuring a multi-cultural, multi-national, multi-racial congregation, the Memorial First India United Methodist Church traces its roots in the area to 1890, when it was the Memorial Church of the United Brethren in Washington, D.C. Since 1956, the church has resided in its current location, close to the intersection of Colesville Road and Sligo Creek Avenue. Sunday worship service are held at 11am, with concurrent Sunday School for youths in pre-kindergarten through high school, and an adult Sunday School before services at 10am. Holy Communion is given on the first Sunday of each month. The Church also offers study groups for men, women and children, and a general Bible Study class, as well as an Outreach Ministry and a food pantry.
