Dr. Mary Rifino was born and raised in New York. In 1976, she earned a bachelor of science in physical therapy from Hunter College, City University of New York. Dr. Rifino then earned her medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in 1985, and was Chief Resident in Family Medicine at the Lutheran Medical Center, in Brooklyn, New York. She has received post-graduate training in Family Urban Medicine as well as Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation at New York University. She received the Resident Teaching Award from the University of Maryland, as well as the Faculty Teaching Award in 1992. She was a member of the Saint Agnes Medical Group board of Directors until 2011 and Chairman of the Board from 2008 until 2011. Dr. Rifino is board-certified in Family Medicine. She has been in Baltimore since 1992 and specializes in Family Medicine.
