Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad offers a range of fire protection, suppression and rescue and medical emergency services. It maintains a fleet of several apparatus, such as engines, boats, sport utility vehicles, ambulances and dive units. Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad also conducts training sessions on several rescue-related topics. It has a work force of more than 10 employees, including captains, lieutenants, sergeants and chiefs. Established in 1952, Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad organizes several fundraising activities. It is a private, nonprofit corporation that responds to over 7,000 emergency and nonemergency calls annually. Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad provides inline access to the Web site of the Prince George's County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association.
