Landon School, located in Bethesda, Md., is an independent, nonsectarian day school for boys. It was established in 1929 by Paul Landon Banfield and offers a variety of educational and co-curricular programs to more than 600 students in grades three through 12. The school has more than 100 full- and part-time faculty members, and its campus is spread on an area of more than 70 acres. Landon School is approved by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Independent Maryland Schools. The school offers various programs, such as English, arts, science, social studies, mathematics and physical education. It has a music department that offers instruction for a variety of musical instruments, such as the flute, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, piano, guitar, violin, viola and cello.
