John A. Bartkovich, MD, FACS, earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut and completed his fellowship at the Syracuse University Upstate Medical Center in New York. Upon completing his residency, Major Bartkovich was a staff surgeon at the United States Air Force Regional Hospital at Shaw Air Force Base and served as Emergency Room Director and Assistant Chief of Surgery. Upon his tour of duty completion, he moved to Salisbury, Maryland in 1979 where he joined Drs. Bloxom, Reeves and Insley. Dr. Bartkovich is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Diplomat and State Representative for the Southern Medical Society. His areas of focus are general surgery and vascular surgery.
