We moved from Lakeview, Oregon to Rocky Ridge, Maryland in 2001 when Bob accepted a position in Washington, DC. Bob works for the Bureau of Land Management as a Rangeland Management Specialist. Julie and their daughter run the farm and look forward to weekends when Bob can be home to help! We are not new to farm life ; Bob was raised on a wheat and cattle farm in north central Oregon. Before moving to Maryland we owned and operated a farm in south central Oregon where we raised paint horses, managed cattle grazing, and produced hay on 240 acres of uplands and irrigated alfalfa and grass. Groff's Content Farm Our farm in Maryland Groff's Content has been here for 250 years and was part of a royal land grant dating back to the 1750's. The farm is still the same 100 acres it was back then, which we think is amazing. The name of the farm in 1752 was Groff's Content ; we felt the history needed to be remembered so we are using the historical name for our farm Groff's Content Farm. You are welcome to visit our farm and pick up your products from our farm ; in fact, that is how we would prefer it. You may visit even if you do not want to buy anything. We have an assortment of critters around just for fun, so come for a visit. Please call in advance as we are usually very busy outside working.
