One of Montgomery County's newest parks, General Getty Park, is located at the corner of Woodlawn and Belvedere roads. The playground and tennis courts are filled with sun, while a set of chess tables and several trellises are set back into the shade. On Saturdays, General Getty Park hosts a farmer's market.

Perfect place to go with kids. Lots of parking places and a great path for kids to ride bikes or scooters. Also good garden places with benches or to just bring a blanket and get a good pick...

Kensington Cabin Park

Kensington Cabin is a large park with basketball and tennis courts, swings, benches, a rustic wooden bridge that crosses over a creek, a grass-covered baseball field and a wooden playground. There is a log cabin near the swings (hence the name), and the basketball court has a timer knob to turn on a spotlight until 10 p.m., when the lights automatically shut off. This park has everything from open space to athletic courts and playgrounds. Great for all ages.
