Established in 1844, Seventh-Day Adventist Church is of Christian denomination and is headquartered in Silver Springs, Md. Its workers preach the gospel, teach relevant living skills, run hospitals, clinics and development projects in more than 200 countries. Seventh-Day Adventist Church conducts Bible study, with over 20 million people around the world participating in its study classes every week. Additionally, it runs Sabbath schools in its churches, a Biblical Research Institute in Silver Springs and a Geoscience Research Institute in Loma Linda, Calif. The church has an education department that operates in more than 5,000 schools around the world, imparting the Adventist philosophy of education to over 1 million students. The Adventist Development and Relief Agency International is an independent humanitarian agency established church that undertakes individual and community development and disaster relief in more than 120 countries.
