Founded in 1933, Eleanor Roosevelt High School boasts one of the largest student populations in the entire state of Maryland. The school is also as award-winning as it is large. It has been recognized by the United States Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School twice, in 1991 and 1998, was on the list of U.S. News and World Reports' 2008 Best High Schools Search, the 2002-2003 Siemens Award for Advanced Placement and was named a National School of Character by the Character Education Partnership in Washington, D.C. in 2002.
