Designing Events is a national resource, partner, and advocate for state public health leaders, working to improve the health of women, children, youth, families, and communities. They disseminate best practices, advocate on behalf of their members in Washington, DC, provide technical assistance, convene leaders to share experiences and ideas, and advise states to achieve the common goal of healthy children, healthy families, and healthy communities.
Designing Events' membership includes directors of maternal and child health programs, directors of programs for children with special health care needs, and other public health leaders. They also include academic, advocacy, and community-based family health professionals, program managers, epidemiologists, and family leaders. Their cutting-edge practices focus on hiring young adults close in age to the youth they serve, promoting optimal use of community-based family health care services, improving maternal health outcomes, building the capacity of parents and caregivers to advocate for systems change, and addressing safe infant sleep for families at higher risk.
