The BDPA Education & Tech Foundation (BETF) is a non-profit charity founded in 1992 to support the education and technical programs of Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA). Their mission is to close the gap of computer and technology literacy by providing advanced computer science education and community responsibility to students from historically disadvantaged communities through BDPA chapters located nationwide.
Through programs like the Student Information Technology Education Scholarship (SITES), BETF trains high school students in after-school computer camps, teaching them the latest computer and Internet website development languages, as well as industry knowledge and presentation skills. They also offer scholarships to underrepresented youth pursuing degrees in computer science, mathematics, and information technology-related fields. BETF aims to empower Black tech professionals and students, providing opportunities for them to raise their voices and make positive change in the tech industry.
