Established in 1982, Banner School offers liberal arts education for students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school offers a program composed of language arts, math, science and social studies. Classes in art, music, Spanish, French, computers and physical education are essential components of the curriculum at every grade level. Each year there is an immersion topic where students in all grades study and explore a period of history or a special topic of current interest. Students have opportunities to join the chorus, an instrumental band, the drama club, the sports academy and numerous athletic teams. The Banner School also fields interscholastic teams in soccer, volleyball, basketball and track and field. It organizes a summer camp, an extended care program and provides financial aid facilities. The Banner School is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education and accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools. The school is in Frederick, Md.
