History
Awful Arthur's was founded in 1975 by Arthur W. Webb Jr.in Exmore Va. on Virginia's Eastern Shore as a sub and pizza restaurant. In 1983 Webb moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and created the first Awful Arthur's Seafood concept. The seafood concept proved to be popular with locals and tourist alike and in 1991 Webb started opening more Awful Arthur's in Virginia.(Richmond (2) , Roanoke, and Salem. 2015 marked the 40th anniversary of the Awful Arthur's name and the St. Michaels location is the first to open in Maryland.

If you like raw or steamed seafood, you will love our authentic oyster bar, serving more than nine varieties of oysters, plus clams,shrimp,mussels,crablegs,crawfish, and our famous steamed combo platter.In additional we offer soups, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, entrees,and daily specials. ( A kid's menu and landlubber items are available) Awful Arthur's offers indoor and outdoor seating and we have two additional rooms for small groups.Our open air porch bar is a great place to hang out and enjoy your favorite beverage.Catering on and off premises is available. Our outdoor dining is dog friendly.
