American Postal Workers Union is one of the world s largest postal union representing more than 33,000 U.S. Postal Service employees and over 2,000 private sector mail workers. Operational for more than 40 years, the organization is an American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations affiliate. A democratic organization, its members include clerks, maintenance personnel, automobile technicians, and support staff of various industries. APWU Health Plan offers fee-for-service plan with various preferred provider organizations and a consumer driven health plan for retirees covered under the Federal Employees Health Benefits program. Employing more than 200 persons, the organization serves over 135,000 people. The organization has branch offices in Glen Burnie, Md., and Washington, D.C.
