Master Instructor Melody Sager opened Advance Martial Arts in 2000 after a decade of training in Baltimore. AMAspecializes in traditional forms of martial arts, starting with tae kwon do from Korea and including pal gwe, tae guek and kicho. Additional training is offered in musical forms, and self-defense as well as weapons and sparring. The AMA goal is to instill self-discipline, self-control, confidence, respect and perseverance in all students. The end product is an indomitable spirit. Along with training and classes, AMA offers summer camp for students ages 8 to 14. However, it's not all martial arts and tae kwon do; other activities include swimming, indoor baseball, movies and more. This philosophy has earned AMA Washington Families Magazine nominations for Best Martial Arts Instruction in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007.
