History

Tomhegan Wilderness Cabins was founded in 1910 and still runs today as year-round cabin rentals. We are most well known for our deer! Tomhegan deer are very friendly as they live on a wildlife sanctuary. They will come right up to you!!

Lawrence's Lakeside Cabin

Our cabins are clean and well maintained. Each unit has electricity, hot and cold running water, bathroom with shower, thermostat heat, automatic coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, refrigerator w/freezer, stove, satellite TV, VCR, linens, blankets and towels. Each cabin has a gas grill w/fuel and there is a fire pit w/wood at the beach. Guests are welcome to help themselves to a wide selection of books, games and free movies from our office annex. We also offer the use of our coin-operated laundry facility. We are located on the western shore of Moosehead Lake, on a quiet, dead-end street. Each cabin views a ten mile span of water, with islands and mountains on the horizon. Swimming is encouraged from our gravel beach, and boat docking is free. A general store and post office are within walking distance.
