Medical Care Development, also known as MCD, is a nonprofit organization that designs and implements a range of health care programs. Established in 1966, the organization plans, develops and operates various health care systems. It provides a variety of assisted living services to senior citizens and individuals with developmental disabilities. The organization offers support services to individuals with chronic mental illnesses. It additionally provides housing units to more than 300 clients. The organization works with private foundations, communities and government agencies. It receives donations for child care projects. The organization serves customers in over 35 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Its division, Medical Care Development International, focuses on child survival, malaria treatment and control, health care financing, and water supply and sanitation issues. Medical Care Development manages a staff of nearly 600 people.
