David Pratt began his framing business, Alternative Framing, in 1985 in Portsmouth NH, a business he sold in 1999. In 2006 he opened D. Pratt Framer in Kittery and then a second location in Rye NH in 2019.

D. Pratt Framer offers a wide selection of frames both already made or custom built just for you. Our professionally trained staff is always there to assist you whether you are framing a small photograph , a child's artwork, a large oil painting, or the jersey of your favorite athlete. The owner, David Pratt is an International award winning Picture Framer and owner of D. Pratt Framer in Kittery, Maine and Rye, New Hampshire. On July 1, 2019 he opened his second location at the former home of Custom Frame and Color on Lafayette road in Rye, a 2000 sq ft showroom with several design counters, scanning and printing capabilities as well as a Gallery displaying local artists. David Pratt and his partner Becky are the ONLY two Master Certified Picture Framers in Maine and New Hampshire, a designation bestowed upon less than 75 picture framers worldwide.
