History
Manitou was originally opened by the Marcus family and passed through several generations of ownership. Today, Manitou is owned and operated by the Deren and Schiff family.

Camp Manitou is a premier boys instructional camp that prides itself on its experienced staff, excellent facilities and broad selection of activities. Campers individually choose programs carefully designed to challenge minds and develop skills. Established in 1947, Camp Manitou is long in history and rich in tradition. Among the team sports: baseball, softball, basketball, football, soccer, roller-hockey, ice-hockey, volleyball, lacrosse and European handball. Individual activities include archery, camping, climbing, golf, riflery, ropes course (with zip line), tennis, and track and field. AT the waterfront, campers participate in swimming, canoeing, kayaking, water-skiing, wakeboarding, SCUBA, sailing, snorkeling, windsurfing, paddle boating and fishing. Our creative areas are exceptional and campers choose from acting, animation, computer animation, newspaper, photography, pottery, radio, set design, and videography.
