History
Founded in 2000 by longtime fine food advocate, Leslie Thistle, Bangor Wine changed hands in November 2009, when it was purchased by Eric and Christine Mihan. Eric brings his knowledge of fine foods from his years living in New Jersey, having helped open and run both chain and independent specialty stores. The Wine Underground Beverage School was created in 2012.

Bangor Wine and Cheese Company is Central Maine's premier specialist in fine wine, craft beer, artisan cheese, and quality charcuterie. We have Tavolo Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegars with a tasting/retail bar. Bangor Wine is also home to the Wine Underground, Maine's only fine beverage education forum, offering classes and seminars.
