Bangor Waste Water Treatment provides sewer maintenance, accounts and bills, an outside water meter program, lost water abatements, industrial pretreatment and a combined sewer overflow program. The city s wastewater treatment plant is a state-of-the-art facility that provides both primary and secondary treatments. The plant utilizes the latest in treatment technologies to insure that water discharged to the Penobscot River meets or exceeds all state and federal requirements. Its sewer maintenance program includes periodic inspection, cleaning and repair of the system to insure that wastewater moves freely and blockages are avoided. Its industrial pretreatment program protects the sewer system and wastewater treatment plant from pollutants that may be discharged to the sewer system by local industries. Much of the city is served by a combined sewer system that carries both wastewater and storm water. The treatment plant is headquartered in Bangor, Maine.
