Cathedral Carmel School
Opened in 1846, Cathedral-Carmel School is a coeducational institution that enrolls more than 700 students in prekindergarten through grade eight. The school s academic program includes various subjects, including Catholic religion, reading, language arts, math, science, social studies and physical education. In addition, the school offers classes in French language, art, music, band, library and computer literacy. Cathedral-Carmel School offers participation in numerous sports activities, such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf, baseball, softball and football. The school s clubs and organizations include a campus ministry and student council. Located in Lafayette, La., Cathedral-Carmel school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
