History
Querbes Park was named after Andrew Querbes, former mayor of Shreveport from the early 1900's. The tennis center itself was named one of the '50 Greatest Municipal Facilities in the US' in 1979. The current director/head pro, Richard Verzaal, has made Querbes the #1 tennis facility in Shreveport, servicing nearly 30,000 people per year. Today, Querbes Tennis Center features 6 clay (rubico) courts, 5 hard (asphalt) courts, 2 racquetball courts and 2 new 8-and-under tennis courts.
