The New Orleans Aviation Board, created in 1943, oversees the administration, operations and maintenance of the airports. The board governs the airport and represents the city in various aviation matters in consultation with state, national and international government agencies. It is an attached board under the executive branch of the New Orleans City Government. The New Orleans Aviation Board s members are appointed by the Mayor of New Orleans with the approval of the city council. The board is located in Kenner, La.
