The New Mexico Economic Development Department is administered by the state government of New Mexico. The department is responsible for promoting, supporting and encouraging economic development in the state. It operates through border authority and industrial training boards. The department's also carries out its functions through the New Mexico Spaceport Authority, film and media council, and economic development corporation and commission. The New Mexico Economic Development Department's business team works in partnerships with other organizations to provide a variety of support service for business in the state. In addition, the department plans and coordinates a range of programs for film and media expansion and rural and technology-based economic development.
