The LSU School of Information Studies (SIS) has been committed to the land-grant mission of LSU for over 90 years, offering undergraduate and graduate programs that address the needs of information literacy and the digital world. Through collaborative and innovative technologies, SIS goes beyond the physical confines of the university to meet students where they live, preparing them to become librarians, archivists, records and information managers, and information professionals ready to adapt to the changing needs of a digital world.
SIS offers both SIS Online and LSU Online programs, taught by the Information Studies faculty. SIS Online follows a traditional 14-week semester format, while LSU Online offers an accelerated term-based system. Students can choose from a variety of focus areas and certificate programs, including Archival Studies and School Librarianship, to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of information studies.
