The Office of Technology Services designs and develops a range of software applications for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. It has installed the SunGard Pentamation Teacher Access Center software, which is a Web-based student management application that allows teachers to post student class attendance and academic grades. The office is engaged in the development of a storage system that can store administrative information and instructional Web sites for more than 4,000 teachers and over 90 schools. It additionally provides videoconferencing and Web publishing solutions for teachers and students. The office hosts Web sites for teachers that allow them to post class news, assignment information, photo albums and related features to their students and parents. It offers technology training, teacher mentoring, technical support, hardware installation and consulting services. The Office of Technology Services is a department of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, which is a school district that serves nearly 45,000 students through approximately 80 elementary, middle and high schools.
