HistoryWe established Acadiana Krav Maga to fill the void of specific self defense training for everyday people in the Acadiana area and is dedicated to teaching it as a true self defense system and not as a sport. We are an affiliate of Krav Maga Global (not a franchise) and utilize the curriculum developed by Eyal Yanilov (who is the head of KMG) as the number one student of Imi Sde-Or (aka, the founder of Krav Maga). What had started as a part-time venture 3 years ago has turned into a full time love as more students arrive. My students are my family and I love each one.SpecialtiesAcadiana Krav Maga is the only school in the Acadiana that focuses specifically on Krav Maga and self defense the way it was meant to be taught and not part of another system. While others say they teach Krav Maga, it's either a watered down version, mixed in with some other martial art or they aren't qualified to teach. We prepare the trainees in the subjects of self defense, self protection, fighting and combat skills, as well as skills to defend others, all in unique and comprehensive way. We train for defenses against all manner of weapons (sticks, knives, pistols, rifles, even rocks and chairs) as well as hand to hand. If it can happen in real life, we train for it. We teach Self Defense, Women's Self Defense, Self Defense against weapons, Ground Fighting, 3rd Party Protection, and Kid's Self Defense (from 6-15) through regularly scheduled classes, seminars, special events, and private instruction at our location or yours.
