Evergreen Map
Evergreen is a town in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 314 at the 2000 census. Evergreen is located east of Bunkie.
The Western singer, songwriter, and actor Rudy Robbins was born in Evergreen in 1933. Also, Lionel Aldridge (February 14, 1941 – February 12, 1998) who played American football professionally as a defensive end in the National Football League on the historic Green Bay Packers teams of the sixties.
First named Bayou Ridge, this town's name was later changed to Evergreen, inspired by its beautiful, evergreen Magnolia trees. The first store in Evergreen was owned by Alonson Pierce, upon whose plantation the town was laid out prior to the Civil War. The town was chartered in 1869.
