History
The Central Louisiana Human Services District (CLHSD) is the result of a multi-year effort to combine the delivery of mental health, addictive disorders, and developmental disability service systems. Historically, services were provided to the clients by 3 separate systems (Office of Mental Health- OMH, Office of Addictive Disorders- OAD, and Office of Citizens with Developmental Disabilities- OCDD). As time went on, it was observed that some clients received services from more than one system and that all 3 systems overlapped. OCDD clients also received services from OMH and OAD clients also received services from OMH and OMH clients also received services from OAD and so on. So, it made the most sense to join all 3 systems, which is exactly what caused the CLHSD to be created.
