C-Port, located in Golden Meadow, La., is a local shipyard for Edison Chouest Offshore, an offshore vessel service company in based in Galliano, La. Founded in 1980, Eidson Chouest owns and operates the largest independently owned fleet of seismic and research vessels in the world. ECO also owns and operates a fleet of new generation, offshore, deepwater service vessels that support a vast majority of the United States Gulf deepwater market. ECO's offshore vessels range from 87 feet to 348 feet. C-Port is a one-stop-shop for all deepwater operations needs located in Louisiana's only deepwater port facility-Port Fourchon. Set on 1,600 feet of public dock, C-Port features more than eight covered slips under lease to varying operators for use in reloading supplies for their deepwater operations. C-Port opened for business in 1997 with Shell as its first customer.
