Louisville’s oldest bar originally opened at the Corner of Brownsboro Road and Mellwood Avenue in 1885. Over the years it has been named The Rendezvous Inn, The Mellwood Inn, The Rush Inn, and now, The Mellwood Tavern. For over 130 years, this establishment has proudly poured Kentucky’s native spirit (and many many other spirits) to all walks of life. Today, we feature more than 50 bourbons, 30 beers, a few pretty decent wines. The kitchen is open til 3am with grub that will certainly satisfy. 7 days a Week! Monday - Comedy Open Mic @ 8pm & burger,fries,beer-$10 Tuesday - Homemade Fried Chicken Dinner with traditional home style sides @ 5pm Wednesday - Solo and duo acts from 9pm-midnight Thursday Larry-oke! BRING IT AND SING IT! Friday and Saturday Night - Live Music in the Tavern Sunday - The Early Service Concert Series @ 5pm and Sunday Night @ 9pm we have The Pranksters!

Love me a great dive bar, and this place 100% delivers. Love that Abita Purple Haze is always on draft, and lots of food specials- they are known for fried chicken. Nice outdoor seating.
