The Laurel-London Optimist Club chartered in October of 1981. Our club is made up of 120 civic-minded members and is 100% voluntary. We operate 365 days a year raising funds and conducting events for the area youth. Since it began, The Laurel-London Optimist Club has lived up to its motto "Friend of Youth." The club has served the youth of Laurel County by offering academic, safety and leisure activities. The Club has also been the primary provider of organized sports for school-aged youngsters. In addition, the Club provides eight annual college scholarships, host a kid's fishing tournament and many more activities for our youth. Through the help of our county and city governments, business people of the community and our members, we now operate a new 23 acre facility which is located just off West Highway 80 in London, Kentucky. The Laurel-London Optimist Club meets every Monday evening at 7: 00 PM at Optimist Club Sports Center
